Fall Fashion Watch

The Summer is winding down  – scary, we know. Soon,  students will be going back to school, college campuses will be swarming with stylistas, and the season of fall will begin. Naturally, that means shopping. The perfect way to cope with the transition of seasons is to go out and get the latest fashions.

We’ve put together 10 fashion trends that were seen in the fall 2012 Fashion Weeks that will inspire you when you’re on your little shopping spree.

Black & Blue: Don’t be scared of pairing black and blue this fall. It’s the color combination of the season, ladies. Marc Jacobs showed a velvet black and blue dress with a black underskirt that changed with the lighting.

Burgundy: DKNY shows an all burgundy outfit in their fashion show. Many designers paired their burgundy garments with black accessories or undergarments.

Reptile Print: Animal print has been a staple in the fashion world for the past couple years, and will still continue to do so. However, this season the main focus is on reptile print which is seen in Yigal Azrouël line.

Leather: Michael Kors spices up the original black conservative outfit with a sexy leather top. Don’t be afraid to show a little sex appeal with your leather this fall.

Winter White: I guess the “no white after Labor Day” rule doesn’t apply anymore. Designers, such as Reed Krakoff, are loving the monochromatic white look for fall.

Military: Cropped military jackets are all the rage this fall. Many have been seen with four pockets on the front of the jacket such as Jason Wu’s runway jacket.

Jumpsuits: Jumpsuits are some of the designers main pieces this fall. Black jumpsuits are especially making an impression in the fashion world such as Thakoon’s piece.

Embellished Sheers: Sheer pieces are getting fancy with sparkling embellishment, lace, and tiny studs. Christian Siriano’s sheer blouse has added gold, sparkling feathers. Also, notice the outfit is showing off one of fall’s main colors, burgundy.

Panels: A slimming trouser, skirt, or dress can show double the color this fall! Victoria Beckham’s dress helps accentuate the curves of the model while providing a sleek look.

High Slit Skirts: Maxi skirts have been the latest fashion trend but this fall they have a little twist. Add a little sexiness to your wardrobe with high slits reaching to the upper thigh. Carlos Miele, Yigal Azrouel, and J. Mendel portray this style on the runway.
